Engine Reparation Services Process

Cylinder Head Services Process
Customers bring their cylinder heads to our facility. We handle a wide variety of heads, from single-cylinder units to complex multi-valve diesel engine heads.
Â

Thorough Inspection and Scheduling
The cylinder head is completely disassembled and cleaned to allow for a comprehensive inspection. We perform pressure testing to detect hidden cracks, check for warpage, and measure valve guides for wear. A detailed service plan is then developed and scheduled.

Reconditioning Process
Merdeka Precision offers a complete solution for cylinder head repair and reconditioning, including:
Cylinder Head Resurfacing / Decking: Machining the head’s mating surface to be perfectly flat, which is essential for guaranteeing the integrity of the head gasket seal.
Valve Seat and Valve Grinding: Performing multi-angle valve jobs to cut valve seats for optimal airflow and sealing. We also reface the valves to ensure a perfect match.
Valve Guide Replacement: Removing worn guides and precisely installing new ones, reaming them to the exact size for proper valve stem clearance and heat transfer.
Crack Repair: Utilizing industry-proven pinning and welding techniques to repair cracks, restoring the structural integrity of the casting.
Pressure Testing: Submerging the head in a heated tank and pressurizing the water jackets to confirm there are no coolant leaks after repairs.
Assembly: Carefully reassembling the head with new seals and components, setting valve spring heights and clearances to OEM specifications.

QC Inspection & Assembly
After reconditioning, every cylinder head undergoes a final quality control check. We verify deck flatness, vacuum test the valve seals to ensure they are airtight, and confirm all dimensions meet or exceed OEM standards. This rigorous process guarantees that the cylinder head is returned to the customer in peak operational condition.
